The Madoo Conservancy is pleased to announce MADOO: PAINTS our in-the-garden painting classes beginning in April 2012., launching a new program aimed at bringing artists into the garden. Watermill-based artist Eric Dever will teach the class, and Madoo creator Robert Dash will offer critiques.
Students will develop and examine painting fundamentals in the context of the Madoo Gardens with flexible and unexpected approaches. The classes are geared towards advanced students seeking new challenges and broadening their approaches to painting.
With the garden itself as subject, Dever will encourage spontaneous recordings of color, surface, form, culminating in finished personal paintings. Color theory, palette, and composition are introduced as the course progresses.
