More than 100 college athletes from around the country have come to the East End to compete in a summer league that kicks off its season on Saturday.
Hamptons Collegiate Baseball, established in 2007, is a not-for-profit that makes up the Hampton Division of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, a wood bat league that has been in existence for 45 years, according to HCB's website.
Volunteer families host the athletes in their homes for the duration of the season.

The league includes five teams spanning the East End: the Southampton Breakers, Westhampton Aviators, Riverhead Tomcats, North Fork Ospreys and Sag Harbor Whalers. The HCB schedule will include 40 games, mostly intra-division, but some non-league games will be played as well.
The best players compete in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game at St. John's University and a Major League Baseball Scout Day.
