ICYMI: 3-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized After Mother Crashes Car While Allegedly Impaired by Drugs

A 3-year-old girl was hospitalized after her mother, who was impaired by drugs, crashed into another car in Water Mill on Sunday afternoon, according to Southampton Town Police.
Kasey J. Cosgrove, 35, was driving a 2008 Honda on Noyac Path when she struck a 2007 Mini Cooper at 1:53 p.m.

Cosgrove’s daughter sustained a head injury in the crash and was transported to Southampton Hospital by Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance, according to police.
She is currently listed in stable condition, police said.

Southampton Town Detectives arrested Cosgrove, of Water Mill, and charged her with one count of aggravated DWI–a felony under Leandra’s Law–one count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, endangering the welfare of a child, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and operating with a suspended registration, police said.
Cosgrove was held overnight at Southampton Town Police and was arraigned Monday morning at Southampton Town Justice Court where she was remanded to county jail in lieu of $53,000 bail.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Southampton Town detectives at 631-702-2230.
