Local Green Beret, Business Owner Battling Brain Cancer
"His family knows that he could be in for a long fight." To that end, a GoFundMe has been created to help a local hero in his time of need.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An army of friends and supporters is mobilizing to help a local man and business owner, also a solider in the Army Special Forces National Guard — a Green Beret battling brain cancer.
A GoFundMe page, "SFC Jay Jinks Needs Help," was created by Joseph Villers of Southampton on behalf of Sergeant First Class Jay Jinks, currently serving with 20th Special Forces Group.
"Jay became a Green Beret in 1997 and served initially on active duty with 10th Special Forces Group," the page said. "Jay is currently receiving treatment for a large cancerous brain tumor, which was just recently discovered. He has already been through a couple of surgeries but remains positive."

Sgt. First Class Jinks is now receiving regular radiation and chemotherapy treatment, the page said.
"His family knows that he could be in for a long fight. Jay is a small business owner and has been financially impacted by this. Please keep Jay in your prayers. Any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated and will help Jay to be able to focus solely on his health, treatment, and recovery. All of the funds raised go directly to Jay. Thank you for your support," the page added.
