Lost Dog Farrah Home Safe
"If it was not for the community coming together and being actively aware, we would not have been so lucky. Thank everyone for me."

SAG HARBOR, NY — It was the happiest of endings in Sag Harbor on Saturday as Farrah, a lost Great Dane mix who had been missing Tuesday, was found safe.
Her owner Walid Boggio said Farrah slipped out of the door when he was leaving the house, near Noyac Rd. and Deerfield Rd.
Boggio has just been in the area for about six months; his whole family is in Florida. Farrah, he said, means everything to him; his other dog, Pilot, is a Lhasa Apso and missed her buddy badly.

Farrah's owner, said Barbara Jude Frerichs, who was helping with the search, "was devastated! Teddy Henn, the tracker, was on the case. Everyone in the neighborhood once again pitched in and prayed for the safe return of this girl."
And on Saturday, Frerichs had good news: "Farrah has been found! Another community effort pays off!" she wrote to Patch.

On Sunday night, Boggio confirmed that he got Farrah back Saturday around 10 a.m. "An 11-year old boy named Nick was going to basketball practice. He spotted Farrah by Mt. Misery Drive in Sag Harbor," Boggio said.
The boy told his mom and his mother called Boggio while he was looking for Farrah in Southampton, because someone there had spotted a black Lab.
"I rushed over to the area where she was spotted," Boggio's said. The boy's mom was waiting in the area where Farrah had been spotted, he said. "I called out her name and she limped out of the bushes near a house that was being built," he said.

Farrah, he said, had been injured: She had been hit by a car and her right side is injured. "But she will be okay," he said.
Boggio is grateful to the community that turned out in force to bring his faithful friend home.
"I'm so glad. This community is great. Thank everyone for me," he said. "If it was not for the community coming together and being actively aware, we would not have been so lucky. It started to snow right after I picked her up and I don’t think she would have made it through any more nights like that without food."
To the warm-hearted community, he added, "Thank you again for the support."
