Man Caught With Controlled Substance, Hypodermic Needle: Police

He was arrested after a traffic stop for speeding, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — A Patchogue man was busted after he was caught driving on drugs, police said.

According to New York State Police, Christopher J. Gonnelly, 34, was arrested on May 23 and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second degree reckless endangerment and possession of a hypodermic needle after a traffic stop for failing to maintain lane and speeding on Lake Avenue in Flanders.

An investigation found Gonnelly to be impaired by drugs and in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
