Man Charged With Felony DWI In Southampton: Police
He had 2 prior convictions in 10 years, police say.
SAGAPONACK, NY — An East Hampton man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Sagaponack Sunday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, a 911 call came in at 10:35 p.m. about a "reckless" driver, who was seen failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway. A patrol officer located the vehicle in Bridgehampton; Jose Guzman, 50, was arrested and charged with felony DWI due to two prior convictions within 10 years, police said. He was also charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and numerous traffic infractions, police said.
Guzman was taken to Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
