Man Cuffed After Driving Drunk, Speeding In Southampton: Cops

He had a BAC of .16%, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Shirley man was arrested after he was caught driving drunk and speeding in Southampton, police said.

According to New York State Police, Michael N. Lacy, 26, was arrested on Friday and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop for speeding and multiple traffic violations while heading west on Sunrise Highway.

An investigation at the scene found Lacy to be intoxicated, police said.

He was transported back to New York State Police Barracks Riverside where he provided a breath sample of .16% BAC, police said.

A check of Lacy’s driving record found that his license had multiple suspensions and he was subsequently charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Lacy is due back at Southampton Justice Court Feb. 19, police said.
