2 Seen Drinking At Beach Had Cocaine; 1 Found With Scale: Police

They were arrested in Northampton Saturday, police say.

NORTHAMPTON, NY — Two people were arrested and charged after they were found drinking at a Northampton beach while in possession of cocaine — and one also had a digital scale, police said.

On Saturday, Ronald Vinicio Espino-Borja, 31, was seen drinking an alcoholic beverage at the Wildwood Lake bathing beach, Southampton Town police said.

During a search, officers found that Espino-Borja also had more than an eighth of an ounce of cocaine, as well as a digital scale used for weighing drugs, police said.

Espino-Borja was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled
substance, a felony; third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a Southampton Town code violation, police said.

Also on Saturday, the Southampton Police Department's community response unit saw Ines Alejandra Orellana-DeLopez, 28, of Flanders, at Wildwood Lake, drinking an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Orellana-DeLopez was arrested and a search revealed a quantity of cocaine and ketamine in her possession, police said.

She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation of Southampton town code, police said. She was released on her own recognizance for future arraignment, police said.
