North Haven Author's Novel Picked as eBook of the Day

Kindle Nation Daily chooses Peter Boody's "Thomas Jefferson, Rachel & Me."

For Wednesday, blog site Kindle Nation Daily has picked a novel by an East End author as its eBook of the Day.

The book is "Thomas Jefferson, Rachel & Me," by Peter Boody, a resident of North Haven.

Boody is a former editor of The Southampton Press, The East Hampton Press and The Shelter Island Reporter, among other editing positions on the East End.

The premise of the novel is that a retired history teacher, Jack, who recently lost his wife and son, finds Jefferson alive again in the 21st century. Along with the girlfriend of his late son, Jack agrees to take Jefferson on a tour of modern America.

Initially published as an eBook in 2010, "Thomas Jefferson, Rachel & Me" came out in paperback in spring 2012.

The print edition of the book has a cover price of $16.99, but the digital edition for Kindle is on sale for $1.99.

Boody will give a brown bag lunch book talk about "Thomas Jefferson, Rachel & Me" at Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton Village on Feb. 27 at noon.
