One Hospitalized After Train Hits Car in Southampton
The incident occurred on Tuckahoe Road.

One person was hospitalized after a train struck a car in Southampton on Sunday afternoon, according to MTA spokeswoman Meredith Daniels.
At 2:15 p.m., a train hit a car that was on the tracks on Tuckahoe Road, Daniels said.
The gates were operating and it is unknown why the car was on the tracks, she said.

The unidentified person was transported to Southampton Hospital for a leg injury, Daniels said.

The train left Jamaica at 12:10 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Montauk at 3 p.m. It arrived in Montauk 86 minutes late.
None of the 130 passengers on the train were injured, Daniels said.
