Passenger In Car Caught With Heroin After Traffic Stop: Cops

He also had a hypodermic needle, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A passenger in a vehicle was nabbed with heroin after a traffic stop, police said.

According to New York State Police, Sarah P. McPhilips, 33, of Farmingville, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. after she was stopped for moving from lane unsafely on Nugent Drive westbound north of the circle in Riverside.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that McPhilips had a suspended license and she was found to be in possession of marijuana; McPhilips was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Gerald G. Nagengast, was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle and heroin; he was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
