Santa Gets Shopping Help From Cops Spreading Cheer To Kids
Children went shopping with police, who spread holiday cheer and put light in the kids' eyes at the annual "Shop With A Cop" event.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Local police put their hearts into making the holidays special for children recently.
Santa got some help on Dec. 6 when Southampton Town Police participated in the "Shop With A Cop" event.
Kids from Southampton Town went shopping with Southampton Town Police, New York State Police, and Southampton Town Police Explorers at Target in Riverhead, police said.

In addition, the Southampton Town Policeman’s Benevolent Association made additional contributions to make the children’s holiday shopping spree even bigger — and officers at the event also provided the families with dinner and cake.
Southampton Town Police Department thanked Target in Riverhead "for their continued cooperation with the Southampton Town Police Department to make the holidays special for these families."
