Search On For Would-Be Southampton Car Wash Burglars: Police

The trio tried to break into the Southampton car wash on July 4, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The search is on for three individuals who attempted to break into a car wash in Southampton in July, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Southampton Town Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the people, two of whom, on July 4, attempted to gain entry through a side door, fracturing the glass, at the Southampton Car Wash, located at 404 County Road 39, police said.

The three left the scene in a gray ford F-150 pick-up truck, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
