Deer, birds and waterbirds are among the inhabitants of Suffolk parks

Suffolk County's many parks are filled with wildlife throughout the year.

Please take care not to disturb them in their natural habitat.

For example, the Makamah Nature Preserve in Fort Salonga, is home to as many as 94 species of birds, and is a prime habitat for owls and woodpeckers.
