SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Talk about a #TBT: Thursday, July 28, marks 87 years since arguably the most famous baby ever born at Southampton Hospital made her debut.
Former First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis was born at Southampton Hospital on July 28, 1929, according to Robert I. Ross, vice president of community and government relations at Southampton Hospital.
On December 5, 2013, Ross turned over Onassis' birth records to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, MA, with the permission of her daughter Caroline Kennedy, currently the United States ambassador to Japan.

Ross said he was one who initially located the birth records.
"While looking for some documents to celebrate the Hospital’s 100th anniversary in 2009, I came across an old manila envelope in a locked safe. Someone wrote on the envelope, 'Mrs. President Kennedy.' Then someone wrote: 'Onassis, Mrs. Jacqueline'," he said.
