Southampton Election 2019: Jay Schneiderman Re-Elected Supervisor

Incumbent Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman retained his seat by a wide margin Tuesday. See who else won their races.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The voters have spoken in Southampton and incumbent Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman (D) won by a wide margin.

According to the unofficial tally, Schneiderman received 7087 votes; he was challenged in the race for supervisor by Gregory Robins (R), who garnered 3788, and Alex Gregor (Libertarian, Independence), who got 1942.

Gordon Herr, a Democrat, faced off against Theresa Kiernan (R) for the receiver of taxes post. Incumbent Kiernan retained her seat, receiving 7267 votes; Herr garnered 5162.

Gary Weber (R) ran unopposed for town justice and got 9371 votes.

Democrats John Bouvier and Craig Catalanotto ran against Republicans Richard Martel and Charles McArdle, as well as Hannah Pell (Independence) for town board. Incumbent Bouvier received the highest number of votes with 6388, followed by Rick Martel with 6134, McArdle with 5673, Catalanotto with 5416, and Pell with 773.

Voters chose five of the following trustee candidates: Bill Pell, Ann Welker, David Mayer, Eric Shultz, Andrew Brosnan, Thea Fry, Megan Heckman, Scott Horowitz, Donald Law, Edward J. Warner, Jr., and Fred Havemayer. Pell (D), was the top vote getter with 7443, followed by Welker, (D), with 6771, Shultz with 6016, Warner Jr. with 5820 and Horowitz with 5583. Next, Law got 5533, Brosnan, 5423, Heckman, 4979, Mayer, 4771, and Fry with 4378.
