Southampton Market Kicks Off County's 'Healthy Corner Store Project'
A kick-off event will be held Friday at La Tiendita Latina in Southampton.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — With a focus on fresh foods and good choices, Suffolk County is hosting a kick-off event for the "Healthy Corner Store Project."
The event will be held Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at La Tiendita Latina, located at 262 Hampton Road in Southampton.
Suffolk County officials will join representatives from Island Harvest, Sustainable Long Island, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County to unveil Suffolk County’s Healthy Corner Store Project, a project which encourages local businesses to distribute and promote fresh, healthful foods to residents who live in communities that lack access to affordable options.

The event will feature discounts on 1-percent and skim milk, new outdoor signage promoting healthy food choices, samples of healthy foods and other giveaways.
