Southampton Swears In 2 New Female Police Officers
One of the women is the first bilingual police officer on the Southampton force.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Town is bolstering the ranks of the police department, swearing in two new female officers on Thursday.
Police Officers Erica Moncada and Katie White were sworn in by Southampton Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer at a Southampton town board on work session.
Officer Moncada is the first female bilingual officer, and OfficerWhite served in the military before entering into the Police Academy, a release from the town said.

Both officers graduated with honors from the Suffolk County Police Academy this year, and both served as seasonal officers before being hired full-time.
“I congratulate both of these new officers and welcome them to our police department," Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said. “They bring an excellent set of skills and life experience to the department. I am confident that they will be outstanding police officers.”

Southampton Town Police Chief Steven Skrynecki added, “We wish both officers well as they take their place among the ranks of one of the finest police departments on Long Island.”
