Southampton Town Supervisor To Run Again In Next Election

Jay Schneiderman made the announcement Friday.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman announced Friday that he will seek re-election when his two year term is up.

Schneiderman shared the news at his fundraising event Friday. He was first elected to the post in 2015 and ran to fill the seat vacated by former Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst, who left to throw her hat into the proverbial ring to face off against incumbent Congressman Lee Zeldin for the 1st Congressional District seat, a race she lost.

The supervisor shared his reasons for wanting to run again: "Southampton is a great town and I feel honored to serve as its supervisor. I'm pleased with the progress that's been made since taking office last year. I'm looking forward to continued success and to working together to make Southampton's future as bright as its past."
