2 Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On Sunrise Highway
A 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and another person died at the hospital Tuesday night, police say.
EAST QUOGUE, NY — Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Sunrise Highway in East Quogue Tuesday night, State Police said.
According to police, the two-car crash took place at 10 p.m. in the westbound lane of Sunrise Highway east of Exit 64.
A 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes, struck a 2008 Toyota Camry head-on. The driver of the Toyota, 28-year-old Michelle Navas, of Hicksville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, Gumercindo Tinit-Tezen, 28, of Mastic, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center and died from injuries sustained in the crash.
There were no other people in either vehicle, police said.
