Whale Sighting in Southampton Area
The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation confirmed a whale sighting in the area.
The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation confirmed on their Facebook page that a whale has been sighted in the Southampton area.
The foundation reminds residents to stay a minimum of 150 feet away from all marine animals and that the whales are federally protected and interacting with them falls under harassment.
