What Southampton Residents Would Miss The Most If They Moved Away

We asked local Patch readers what they would miss the most if they moved away from the East End. Check out their answers; add your own.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — We asked readers on our Southampton Patch Facebook page what they would miss the most if they moved away from the East End. Check out some of the answers we got below and then add your own here.

  • I did and miss everything
  • Old Montauk Highway. Heading east past Gurney's. The sight of the ocean. My favorite place on earth.
  • I did and I miss the sound of duck hunters in the morning!
  • I did move and I miss the feel of Southampton Village. The feeling of a small town. And lilacs.
  • All of the different bodies of water
  • The wonderful scents unique to our area
  • Bagels and other top-notch deli food. Alaska is an extreme example in lacking those things.
  • I did and everything about the island I miss. From beaches to bagels. Indiana is a nightmare.
  • Egg sandwiches and pizza.
  • My friends and the ocean.
  • Nothing. Because if I moved, that would mean starting a new life and who could start a new life missing certain things you cannot bring with you from your old life?
  • Egg sandwiches on the way to the ocean.
  • I moved to Florida and this will sound silly, but I miss the buttered roll.
  • I moved and — everything. Wish I could still afford to live there.
  • I couldn't move to another state that wasn't coastal.
  • Beaches and pizza.
  • I did, and don't miss a thing.
  • Coopers Beach
  • The beach
  • Its beauty
  • The people. We moved and we miss our Long Island friends.
  • Only the beach. It’s not what it used to be.
  • Not missing the traffic, or noise of lawn crews leaf blowing and hedge trimming every day.
  • Definitely not the cost of living!
  • The seafood! Everything else, especially access to anything good, has already been destroyed.
