Woman Leads Cops on 2 Chases, Crashes into Police Vehicle, Jet Ski, 'Forcibly' Steals Another Car: Police
During the chase, the woman also attempted to forcibly steal a second car, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A car chase in Southampton led to a crashed police vehicle, the forcible theft of another vehicle, and a second attempted car heist, police said.
According to New York State Police, on Saturday at 11:51 a.m., a trooper from the Riverside barracks saw a vehicle being pursued by a Southampton Town police car on Route 27 east of Exit 62.
The trooper joined the pursuit, which headed west on Route 27 and ended in Riverhead, where the driver headed the Home Depot parking lot and headed straight for a pedestrian crosswalk with people, police said.

The trooper blocked the crosswalk with his vehicle to protect the pedestrians and the driver than crashed into the trooper's car, police said.
Rasheeda E. Brown, 30, of Riverhead was then arrested and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

While at the hospital, Brown, while in the custody of Southampton Police, escaped from custody, police said.
She exited the hospital and proceeded "to forcibly take another vehicle from the area of TJ Maxx, located on County Route 58," police said.
New York State Police and the Riverhead Police Department canvassed the area until Brown was spotted by a state trooper on Mill Road in Riverhead, police said.
A pursuit ensued and Ms. Brown next struck a jet-ski trailer towed by a Jeep Wrangler on Route 58, police said.
Brown then attempted to forcibly take the Jeep Wrangler and was taken into custody, police said.
Brown was arrested, transported to the New York State Police Riverside barracks, processed and held for morning arraignment.
Multiple charges against Brown are pending and were not immediately identified by police; stay tuned for an update.
As a result of a follow-up investigation Wallace M. Conklin, Jr. 47, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with fourth degree criminal facilitation, fifth degree conspiracy, and third degree hindering prosecution, police said. He was issued an appearance ticket for Riverhead Justice Court and is due back on Sept. 28.
Tanya A. Brown, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested for and charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a credit card, and was held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
Travis W. Abinette, 26, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Abinette was issued an appearance ticket and is slated to return to Riverhead Justice Court on Sept. 28.
