Wrong Way Driver Charged With DWI In Southampton: PD
He headed the wrong way and into the lane of an oncoming police vehicle, authorities say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Miami Beach man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he headed the wrong way down the road toward a police car, authorities said.
According to Southampton Village Police, on Thursday at 1 a.m., Robert B. Campbell, 51, of Florida, was arrested on North Main Street and charged with misdemeanor DWI.
Campbell was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler while traveling southbound on North Main Street and then drove into the northbound lane of the oncoming police vehicle, authorities said.

He was placed under arrest, processed, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
