2-4 More Inches Of Rain Possible: Hudson Valley Flood Watch Expanded
Excessive runoff could cause streams to overflow; excessive rain could cause urban and poorly drained areas to flood.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the lower Hudson Valley and extended the one already in place in the mid-Hudson, due to the possibility that excessive rainfall will cause flooding over the next 24 hours.
The flood watches are in effect from 2 p.m. to Tuesday afternoon.
For Dutchess and Ulster counties, embedded thunderstorms are also expected this afternoon through Tuesday morning. Localized rainfall rates could be one inch per hour or greater.
