Sharon Nakazato lived in Japan where she studied Japanese Brush Calligraphy intensively with celebrated contemporary master Shinzan Kamijo.Sh.. While continuing on her “path of the Oriental Brush,” in recent years Nakazato has revisited her western art background and is now exploring an expansive range of mixed media, some incorporating Asian calligraphy and all drawing on years of experience with Eastern brush, inks, and space.

Nakazato has exhibited widely from Tokyo to Colorado to Pennsylvania to New York, including one-woman shows in NYC, the Seattle area, Putnam County, and Ridgefield, CT. In 2006 participation in the “Woodstock School of Art Printing Cabal” opened a whole new world of art to pursue, and in 2007 she was invited to participate in the BAU “Fresh Ink” Printing Festival in Beacon, NY.

Norma Pereira-Mora is an artist working in the Hudson Valley. Originally from Guatemala, she focuses on expressing the unique qualities of handmade crafts and to bringing cultural traditions and diversity into other’s lives.

Norma’s business, IXMUCANE’S ARTISAN , specializes in the creation of one of a kind wooden boxes, painted in a variety of styles suitable for men, women and children of all ages.

In addition to being an artist, Norma has dedicated her life towards assisting those in need. A compassionate advocate and versatile communicator, Norma recently became the first recipient of the Hudson Valley Community Building Award.
