Daniel Shea moves into a position vacated when Detective Joe Lopiccolo retired after 20 years in the department.

CARMEL, NY — Carmel Police Officer Daniel Shea was promoted to detective Wednesday by the Carmel Town Board.
He'll be taking the place of Detective Joe Lopiccolo, who retired after 23 years in law enforcement —three years with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and 20 in Carmel.
Detective Shea was hired by the Carmel Police Department in August 2018 and graduated from the Westchester County Police Academy that December.
