Danbury Man Accused of Shoplifting in Southeast

He was arrested at the Home Depot Saturday.

At 10:33 a.m., Oct. 17, Putnam Deputy Sheriff Andrew Kristan responded to the Home Depot store at 80 Independent Way in Southeast.

Andrew M. DePalma, 27, of 3 Spruce Trail, Danbury, Connecticut had been detained by store loss prevention employees who alleged he had attempted to steal merchandise.

The deputy arrested DePalma and charged him with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. DePalma was arraigned in the Town of Carmel Justice Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or bond pending a future appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant faces up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
