"Director's Eye" Master Class for Middle & High School Students

Spotlight Arts Inc. presents a Master Class entitled “ A DIRECTOR’S EYE IN THE THEATRE” by Mr. Richard F. Grasso on Wednesday November 11th, 2015 from 9AM - 3PM at the Studio Around the Corner 67 Main Street, Suite 101, Brewster NY. The class is open to students grades 6 – 12.

Ever wonder what a director is looking for in an audition? Are you gearing up for an audition for a production and desire insight on how to do the best that you can? This 6 hour master class will cover all basics in how a director operates in a theatre. From being hired to direct a show, to the staging of the actors, to the curtain going up on opening night! Come learn all there is to know about being a director and putting on a show! Parts of the class will include directing others in the class in small scenes, “mock” auditions”, and learning all that you can to understand the audition, casting, rehearsal and production process from “the other side of the table”. Monologues and scenes will be provided, however, having a monologue and 16 bar audition cut memorized is requested for this master class.
