Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Philipstown
State police in Cortlandt say a Fishkill man was on an Ultra Classic "trike" on Route 9 Wednesday night.

About 9:58 p.m. Oct. 7, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks responded to the area of State Route 9 and Old Highland Turnpike for a reported motorcycle crash.
An investigation revealed that 56-year-old Bill Jesshope of Fishkill, New York, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic “trike” northbound on State Route 9 when he exited the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole.
The motorcycle was in pieces on the road when first responders got there, according to Kempter’s Fire Wire. They had to search for the rider, whose body they found in the woods.
Mr. Jesshope was pronounced deceased on the scene, police said, and the Putnam County Coroner’s Office was called.
