Feds OK Start of Southeast Pipeline Work
Pre-construction excavations at the Southeast Compressor Station, which is to be expanded

As officials and residents concerned about Spectra Energy’s pipeline expansion plan plead for more review, federal officials have said work can begin on parts of the project.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday granted Spectra Energy permission to perform preconstruction piping investigations (sub‐surface exploratory vac‐truck excavations) at the Southeast Compressor Station.
FERC also granted Spectra’s Aug. 17 request for Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC (Algonquin) to construct the Algonquin Incremental Market Project Haverstraw to Stony Point Take-up and Relay pipeline segment from Station 171+00.8 to 174+76.4 and Stony Point to Yorktown Take-up and Relay pipeline segment from Station 125+69.8 to 138+00 in Stony Point, New York.
