This triggered the working fire mutual aid assignment and assistance from neighboring departments. The Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department assisted with a ladder truck and manpower, the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department sent its FAS Team as well as Battalion 16, and the Putnam County paramedics responded. Mahopac was also requested to relocate one tanker to stand by at the Mahopac Falls headquarters.
Assistant Chief, Chris Tompkins took command and assigned the arriving crews, who went to work to extinguish the fire on the exterior of the building and performed an aggressive interior attack.
