First Graders Injured In Ceiling Collapse

The students were on a trip to the Madden Outdoor Education Center.

Six first graders were injured slightly at the Madden Outdoor Education Center in Kent Friday morning. They were with two first-grade classes at the center for a field trip.

"A portion of a ceiling in a teaching station collapsed while one of the classes was inside," Mahopac Superintendent Anthony DiCarlo told the community in a statement on the website.

A teacher called 911 and district officials.
