Kent Man Faces Menacing Charge Over Putnam Courthouse Incident
Protesters said he got out of his truck and threatened them.
CARMEL, NY — A 54-year-old Kent man has been charged with menacing resulting from an incident that took place on Aug. 22 in front of Putnam County's Historic Court House in Carmel.
"He came over to the BLM protest, got out of his truck, and proceeded to say awful things and threaten people," said Stephanie Keegan.
After an investigation and consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested the 54-year-old man and charged him with Menacing in the Second Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Carmel Justice Court at a later date.
