Mahopac Man Charged with Drug Possession

Police allege they caught him snorting something.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Mahopac man on a charge of drug possession.

On Feb. 6, members of the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) were conducting patrols when they observed a male subject seated in a parked motor vehicle and who appeared to be ingesting a substance through a rolled up piece of paper in a method consistent with that of illegal drug use. The deputies made contact with the subject and determined that he was using a rolled up five dollar bill to “snort” a suspected controlled substance.

Police allege Michael Reo, 36, of Bloomer Road, Mahopac was in possession of quantities of heroin, cocaine and suboxone. He was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. He was released without bail pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court.
