Masked Man Robs Patterson Mini-Mart: Sheriff

He was wearing a black hooded jacket and a white mask, according to the Putnam County Sheriff.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports that a convenience store in the hamlet of Patterson was robbed by a masked gunman Wednesday night.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the robber.

The robbery happened at about 8:15 PM Oct. 7, at Betzi’s Mini Mart, located at 5 Center Street in Patterson, police said. The suspect—a male wearing a black hooded jacket, dark pants and a white mask—entered the store and brandished a handgun. He ordered a female sales clerk to give him money and then left the store with an undisclosed sum of cash.

No one was injured in the robbery.

A witness reported that the suspect got into a small automobile—of unknown make, model and color—and drove away from the area on Route 311 with its headlights off. The suspect’s vehicle was last seen turning onto Route 292.
