New Fairfield Woman Resists Arrest In Southeast: Cops
The Putnam County Sheriff said her privilege to drive in New York was suspended.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A New Fairfield woman faces charges in Putnam County of driving with a driver's license suspended in New York, and resisting arrest.
At 12:59 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Kevin Osika watched a vehicle commit traffic violations on Route 202, in Southeast, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reported.
Osika initiated a traffic stop. A check of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle computer system revealed that the driver, Deborah Kern, 56, had her license suspended in the State of New York.

When Osika attempted to place Kern under arrest, she failed to obey his commands and resisted arrest, police allege.
Eventually, she was taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing.

She was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor), and Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).
Kern was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court and released on her own recognizance, pending a future court date.
