New Milford Man Faces Charges in Southeast

He was on Route 6 in New York when stopped by a Putnam Sheriff's Deputy.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A Connecticut man faces a charge of unlicensed operation after a traffic stop by a Putnam County Sheriff's deputy.

At about 12:15 a.m. July 23, Eli Post, 35, of New Milford, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree.

A deputy had stopped Post after observing him commit a traffic violation on US Route 6, in the Town of Southeast, and subsequently determined that the man held a suspended license.

He was processed and released on desk bail, pending an appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court. If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, Post could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
