New York Crime Stoppers is offering a reward.

BREWSTER, NY – New York State Police continue to search for Hector G. Cruz-Diaz, who is wanted for an attempted Rape in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony, and Burglary in the 2nd Degree. The 35-year-old is or was a resident of Danbury, Connecticut. He has also, at times, lived in Putnam County.

The accusation stems from a reported sexual assault on March 20, 2016. Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Main Street in Brewster. Their investigation indicated that Cruz-Diaz unlawfully entered a 24-year-old's home and attempted to rape her. The suspect, who was an acquaintance of the victim, fled the house before police got there.

In July of 2017, the Village of Brewster Court issued a warrant ordering Cruz-Diaz’s arrest.
