Harlem Line On Schedule After Death On The Tracks: UPDATE

UPDATE — A woman who was on the tracks in Valhalla Monday morning died after being hit by a commuter train, MTA officials said. The Metro-North train struck the woman on the Harlem Line tracks at about 7:45 a.m.
The train was the 6:28 a.m. from Wassaic which had been due into Grand Central Terminal at 8:31 a.m.
The individual was transported to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition, MTA officials said.

The incident took place at Cleveland Street in Mount Pleasant, where the Valhalla train station is located. There are four grade crossings in the hamlet of Valhalla where surface roads cross Metro-North tracks: at Cleveland and Commerce streets and at Lakeview and Stevens avenues.
The southbound Taconic State Parkway was also affected. The exit and entrance ramps at Cleveland Street were closed at 9:45 a.m. for investigation and cleanup. Officials estimated they could remain closed for up to two hours.

Harlem Line service was on time as of 1 p.m. The Cleveland intersection with the Taconic is open, state transportation officials announced at 1:20 p.m.
UPDATE, 10:39 a.m. — Harlem Line service is currently experiencing some residual delays of 15 to 20 minutes with some earlier trains experiencing delays of 90 minutes or more. The problem is between North White Plains and Southeast, MTA officials said. It's due to a person being struck by a train at Valhalla Station.
UPDATE, 8:48 a.m. — The MTA reports Harlem Line delays are between Southeast and North White Plains.
VALHALLA, NY — Metro-North reports Harlem Line service is delayed due to a person being struck by a train at Valhalla.
MTA officials ask riders to listen for announcements at your station.
