Police Arrest Carmel Man for DWI

The defendant was stopped for traffic violations on Route 22.

A Carmel man was arrested Nov. 21 and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

A Putnam County deputy sheriff stopped David W. Churchill, 25, of Rosedale Road, for traffic violations on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast.

Churchill was allegedly intoxicated and failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

Police said he was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, Churchill could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
