Police Charge 2 with Drunk Driving in Southeast
Both were stopped on Route 6 in separate incidents.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrests of two motorists on DWI charges.
Deputy Sheriff Vincent Dalo stopped a motorist who committed a traffic violation on Route 6 in Southeast at about 2 a.m. Feb. 20. The deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Edvin Antonio Salazar, 27, of 84 Main Street, Brewster was intoxicated and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Deputy Sheriff Keith Blessing stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 6 in Southeast at 2:11 a.m. Feb. 27. The deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Tyler J. Murello, 63, of 15 Putnam Terrace, Brewster was intoxicated. He also found that Murello held a suspended drivers license. Murello was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, misdemeanors.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, they could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000 for each charge.
