Police: Mohegan Lake Man Had Illegal Drugs

The suspect was arrested in the Town of Putnam Valley.

Putnam County Sheriffs arrested a Mohegan Lake man on a drug charge.

Corey R. Policastro, 21, of Eleanor Drive, was stopped Oct. 18 for a traffic violation on Bryant Pond Road in the Town of Putnam Valley.

During the traffic stop, Deputy Sheriff Matthew Tunney found that the man allegedly had possession of a controlled substance.

Policastro was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

He was process at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court Oct. 29.

If found guilty, Policastro could face up to a year in jail and a fine up to $1,000.
