Restaurateur Honors Late Customer With Party, Fundraiser

The Breakfast Club Special will be available Oct. 7-10 to raise money in DiMarino's honor for the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.

MAHOPAC, NY — Putnam County resident Nicola DiMarino ate breakfast with friends at the McDonald's in Mahopac almost every morning; they called themselves the McDonald’s Breakfast Club.

DiMarino died in July, and not only do his family and friends miss him, so does the owner/operator of the McDonald’s, Joy Carlos Wong.

So Wong cooked up a double-barreled commemorative idea.

On what would have been DiMarino’s birthday on Thursday, his family members and friends gathered outside Wong’s restaurant to celebrate his legacy and enjoy the meal together.
