Teams will arrive in downtown Mahopac beginning around 2PM Sept. 30 and will be on display until 6PM. Come out and cheer on the teams as they cross the finish line and hang out to mingle with contestants, stop at local shops, and witness the parade of cars ranging from classic hot rods to limited edition exotics.
Between 3PM and 9PM, the Italian American Club of Mahopac will be set up next door in Chamber Park hosting their Evening in the Piazza. Stop by to enjoy great music, kids rides, Italian treats like zeppoles and much more!

Then get up early Oct. 1, because starting at 7AM, spectators will once again be welcomed to line up along Route 6N to cheer the contestants off to their next and final destination. The cars will be on display until 9AM when the green flag flies and the contestants are escorted to the highway.
But stick around after the teams hit the road as the Italian American Club of Mahopac’s Columbus Day Parade steps off at 10:30 AM from Lake Casse Road.
Town of Carmel Police Chief Michael Cazzari serves as the club’s 2016 Grand Marshall and this year’s dedicated charity is Drug Crisis in Our Backyard — a Hudson Valley-based organization started in 2012 by Susan and Steve Salomone and Carol and Lou Christiansen after the loss of their sons to a battle against heroin.
The parade will continue down Route 6 and will lead into the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Street Fair.
Beginning at 12:30 PM on Saturday, the annual Mahopac Street Fair will be underway. Presented by the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, this is a can’t-miss event that will feature local businesses, children’s amusements, and much, much more.
Please keep in mind that due to the high volume of attendees and road closures, traffic is going to be backed up in the afternoon of Sept. 30 and throughout the day on Oct. 1. Route 6N will be closed from the Route 6/6N split to Cherry Lane on Friday during the event, and the road closure will extend to Clark Place during the Street Fair on Saturday.
