Still Time To Sign Up For Brewster's 1st Spring 5K And Family Fun Run

It begins and ends at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church on Prospect Street Saturday morning.

BREWSTER, NY — Brewster Cares, a non-profit dedicated to the care of those in need in Brewster and the immediate surrounding communities, is sponsoring a 5K and Family Fun Run around the Village this weekend to raise money and awareness.

Start time is 8 a.m. Saturday from St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church on Prospect Street. So you could do the run, or cheer on the runners, before going to the Little League Parade and volunteering for an Earth Day cleanup site.

"Our mission is to unite people to build trust, give hope and serve those in need. Together, we all make Brewster stronger," said officials at Brewster Cares.

So far 36 runners are signed up, which is a solid showing for the first time around. The hope is that it can become an annual event bringing the community together every spring.
