• Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame Music Documentary Film Festival Day 3 at Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame Long Island (Sep 27, 2026) (broadwayworld.com) — Stony Brook Village will host the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame's expanded three-day music documentary film festival from September 25–27, with screenings starting daily at 11 a.m. Just a short trip from home, you'll find 43 films, live performances, Q&A sessions with directors, and several Long Island and world premieres, all at 97 Main Street. 
• Jose Baeza (stonybrook.edu) — A Stony Brook University PhD candidate in history, José Manuel Baeza, is being recognized for his research on Blackness and the African Diaspora in Chile and Latin America. Working in Africana Studies and supported by the university's IDEA Fellowship, he brings global perspectives on race, culture, and the "Global Sixties" to students and the wider campus community.
