• More Than 100 Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Smithtown House Fire (dailydispatch.com) — An 82-year-old man was critically injured in a three-alarm house fire in Smithtown and rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital with severe burns and smoke inhalation. More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze for hours, while a second resident and a firefighter sustained minor injuries and were also hospitalized for evaluation.
