America at 250: Freedom, Jewish Experience and Why Jewish Studies Matters Now

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, join the Stony Brook University community for a special conversation exploring the Jewish experience in the American story of freedom.

This special program will explore how Jewish Americans have helped shape the nation’s traditions of religious liberty, civic participation and the pursuit of freedom — and how America’s promise has inspired Jews around the world. Drawing on these experiences, the conversation will consider why preserving and teaching Jewish history matters today and how strengthening Jewish Studies can carry that legacy forward.
